Rescued Daura monarch returns home three months after

The Magajin Garin Daura (District head), Alhaji Musa Umar, on Wednesday, returned to Daura after his three months’ absence from the town following his kidnap by unknown gunmen on May 1, 2019.

The Police rescued Umar on July 2 in Kano but he thereafter travelled abroad.

The ancient town of Daura was thrown into a joyous mood on Wednesday as residents trooped out in their large numbers to welcome the freed district head.

Residents lined up the streets of Daura and joined the district head in a carnival-like procession around the town shortly after his convoy arrived in the town at about 12pm
