With Meghan Markle’s rise from child feminist activist, to famous Hollywood actress, and then to becoming the Duchess of Sussex by virtue of her marriage to Prince Harry into the British Royal Family, there have been many speculations as to her true feelings for the Duke. Many people have accused her of marrying for fame.
Meghan did have a shaky career in Hollywood. While many people know her well for her role as Racheal Zane on the high grossing legal drama Suits from its premier season in 2011, she had held smaller roles in day time TV and a few movies. Her earlier roles include a brief appearance as a nurse on
a day time soap opera, 2011 Horrible Bosses, Century city in 2004, Get Him the Greek, and Remember Me. Her roles all paid well around $150,000 per annum.
Meghan and Harry met in 2016 by introduction from a mutual friend, and they went on to be engaged in 2017. Of course, her marriage to Prince Harry is much more fame than a long career in Hollywood.
The royal nuptials was held in 2018 and was marked by a lavish ceremony fit for new Duchess of Sussex. However, one year into the marriage, disturbing reports of Meghan being bullied by her new family flooded the mainstream media. The Duke and Duchess formally announced their intention to leave their royal duties behind after their son, Archie, was born in 2019.
A lot of controversy already existed around her marriage to Prince Harry as a result of her race, career, an family. However, the biggest controversy has been leaving the royal family and the fall out that has happened after. The looming question and accusation is that Meghan’s plan all along as been to become famous through marriage. She has also been accused of causing the rift between the Duke and the royal family.
With their second baby on the way, the couple still seem to be as in love as they were in 2017. If Meghan is faking for fame, then she is one good actress.
