Do You Pray? (I Love This Interpretation Of A Prayer)

Why Do You Pray?

You pray to air your grievances, concerns, good thoughts and fears. You should pray when you have good thoughts in your head; dreams you want to run after to fulfill. Doing this is telling your heavenly father what you want to do; you tell Him your movements and the direction you are moving. Yes! God knows your thoughts, but He still want you to give Him gist. He is a father and a friend. You would be surprised at what He will tell you, probably He might say “You have thought well, my dear child” … “My child, I know of someone who did already what you plan to do, let me add one cent to your thought that you may do it better than the person in the name of innovation and restructuring” … “You have desired a great and mighty thing, you can’t do it alone all by yourself, I will send some men to you that they be your helping hands” … “I like this your idea, my child, let’s pause the plan and do it some other time – I will make it more beautiful for you in due time.” These statements and much more are what you would likely hear from God (your heavenly father).

It is not enough that you tell your plans to your parent, friends, colleagues, boss, relatives or someone somewhere alone, remember to tell God who is capable to talk to those people you think they will help you out.

You pray when you are afraid, and His reply will come with instructions; you will know what to do. And more importantly, His voice and words will calm you and put you in His serene environment.

When things are not going your way … when you can’t comprehend what is happening to or/and around you … when it seems life is coming hard at you despite your best effort and attention. You pray to God to make your grievances known, He will tell you what you don’t know and more importantly, what to know about your present state and feeling.

Outside yourself (spouse and children), you can also pray to God on behalf of your friend or some other persons to tell Him what you wish for them. Yes! You pray for their success, good health, miracles.

And you should never forget your prayers of thanksgiving. You don’t pray alone to ask or air your grievances, you also pray to give thanks to God. This prayer of thanksgiving could come in come of greetings; “Lord, good day (morning/afternoon), I woke up safe and sound – it’s all because of You.” In another case, you say the prayers of thanksgiving to report the success and breakthroughs you have recorded because He gave you the power to accomplish those accomplishments. It is prayer when you say “Lord, I thank You (over this and that).”

How Do You Pray?

This is another important aspect of communicating with God. Knowing how to pray greatly helps what you pray about. You can pray on your knees, or on your feet. Also while you are on the move. You can pray with any posture, anytime you have contents (what to pray about) to share with God.

Sometimes, listening and singing to some inspiring and revealing songs on your stereo or phone could be that you are praying. There are songs like prayer – when the lyrics are according to the word of God, and according to what is on your mind (your desires and thoughts). Singing can also be prayer (an act you communicate with God). You will get to know it is prayer when God is sending some signals into your soul and spirit while singing.

May I remind you that prayer can take place anywhere; bedroom or verandah, toilet, on bus, in church, the list goes on.

It is important that you cultivate the habit of prayer. Be a prayer.
