A man in jail marries the woman he never met on phone

Abdeslam, 33, married his new wife last summer in a religious ceremony conducted entirely by telephone from Fleury-Mérogis prison, near Paris.

Salam Abdeslam played a role in the 2015 Paris attacks, and he is currently serving a life sentence.

Abdeslam is the sole surviving member of the 10-man hit squad which carried out the infamous Paris terrorist attacks in November 2015, in which 130 people were killed and almost 500 people were injured.

– Rescuers evacuate people following an attack in the 10th arrondissement of Paris on November 13, 2015.
– Spectators invade the pitch of the Stade de France stadium after the international friendly football match between France and Germany in Saint Denis, outside Paris on November 13, 2015.

The wedding is said to be arranged by Abderrahmane, Abdeslam’s 73-year-old father.

It is believed that the woman’s name is only known to French intelligence services, who monitor all of Abdeslam’s communications.

Since being arrested in March 2016, Abdeslam has received love letters from numerous radicalised female admirers.

Indeed, two other women were reportedly very close to marrying Abdeslam before details of their impending weddings were leaked to media.

Abdeslam is presently in Ittre prison in Belgium, where he is awaiting trial that will commence on December 5 – for his alleged role in the Brussels terrorist attacks of March 22, 2016.
