Former US President Donald Trump was quickly ushered offstage just minutes into his rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, July 13, following gunshots fired in his direction.
Secret Service officials confirmed that Trump is currently safe and is expected to recover. He was observed with blood on the side of his head and ear.
During the rally, as Trump addressed the audience, gunfire erupted. Trump reacted by touching the side of his face as the sound of shots reverberated through the venue.
Secret Service agents immediately intervened, instructing Trump to take cover, and swiftly surrounded him. He was promptly escorted to safety into a waiting vehicle, with agents providing security on all sides.
A spokesperson for the Secret Service assured the public in a statement released via X that “the former President is safe.”
