A Police Sergeant has been arrested for shooting her son, 24, and his girlfriend,16, to in South Africa.
The 49-year-old mother identified as Constance Mosibudu Sathekge, on Monday, February 17, 2025, appeared in the Morebeng Magistrates’ Court facing two counts of murder.
It is alleged that on 13 February 2025, at Botlokwa, the deceased persons, Khutso Sathekge (son) and Naledi Mmonwa (girlfriend to Khutso), were gunned down by Khutso’s mother.
Both deceased persons were found with several gunshot wounds and were taken to the hospital. However, they succumbed to their injuries upon arrival.
After the incident, the accused then called the police, and she was immediately arrested.
WHAT HAS HAPPENED?
Sergeant Sathekge claimed that the shooting was in self-defence during an argument when Khutso threatened her with a knife.
The matter was postponed to 24 February 2025 for a formal bail application, and the accused remains in custody.
