Veteran entertainer and activist Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy or Area Fada, has called out former Abia State Governor and current Senator, Orji Uzor Kalu, over his public endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term.
Kalu, who represents Abia North in the Nigerian Senate, caused a stir on Tuesday, May 28, when he appeared at the plenary session wearing a custom outfit emblazoned with the slogan “Tinubu for President 2027.”
The move drew sharp criticism from Charly Boy, who took to Instagram to vent his frustration.
“See this clown. Some of these my yeye useless Igbo brothers have taken sycophancy to another level. It is a Tufiakwa situation. Dia fathers. Criminals everywhere. Can someone please answer me?” he wrote.
Charly Boy’s outburst reflects growing tension within political and activist circles, especially among critics who believe early endorsements for the 2027 presidency are premature and self-serving.
Orji Uzor Kalu has yet to publicly respond to the criticism.
