Kaduna State: 23-Year-Old Woman Arraigned For Allegedly Stabbing Boyfriend Over Cheating Allegations

A 23-year-old woman, Abigail Victor, has been arraigned before a Magistrate’s Court in Kaduna for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend during a domestic dispute triggered by suspicions of infidelity.

Abigail, who resides in Ungwan Sunday, Kaduna State, is facing two charges: conspiracy and causing bodily harm.

According to the Prosecutor, Inspector Chidi Leo, the incident occurred on May 17, 2025, at Sabon Tasha, Kaduna. He told the court that following an argument, Abigail accused her boyfriend, Dominic James, of cheating.

In a fit of rage, she allegedly called two friends, who accompanied her to Dominic’s residence. The trio reportedly assaulted him, and Abigail is accused of stabbing him in the shoulder with a knife.

Neighbours reportedly intervened and rushed the victim to the hospital for treatment.

The prosecutor stated that the actions violated Sections 58 and 284 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law, 2017. Section 58 carries a one-year sentence for conspiracy, while Section 284 provides for a minimum of five years imprisonment for causing injury.

Abigail pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Presiding Magistrate Ibrahim Emmanuel granted her bail in the sum of N200,000, with one surety in the same amount. The surety must be a blood relative and provide evidence of three years’ tax clearance from the Kaduna State Government.

The case was adjourned to June 17, 2025, for hearing.
