Katie Waissel is back in hospital with a suspected blood clot on her lung – almost two days after she was discharged while recovering from severe bacterial pneumonia.
The singer, 40, who finished seventh on the ITV singing competition in 2010, was admitted to the private Wellington Hospital in London for scans and tests as her battle with the serious lung infection continues.
In an X post, published on Thursday, Katie penned: ‘After a day and a half at home, I’m now BACK at the hospital and not doing so great.
‘Whilst still battling this awful bacterial pneumonia, there’s now a suspected blood clot on my lung, so I’m back in for more scans, tests and needles. I’m fairly certain I’ve run out of veins for people to poke at this point.’
The Celebrity Big Brother 2016 housemate thanked the team at Wellington Hospital for their ‘incredible’ care.
Katie’s focus is to ‘get better and get home to my little boy’, Hudson, seven, whom she has with her ex-partner, personal trainer Andy Speer.
