Social media users took to
Meghan Markle for, again, challenging a major US consumer goods company over
its “sexist” dish soap ad when she was just 11 years old.
Markle, 41, shared the story
on the first episode of her “Archetypes” podcast released today on Spotify.
She said she took action by
launching a “letter-writing campaign” for political pundits, including First
Lady Hillary Clinton, to challenge the verbiage the company used in the
commercial.
The Duchess of Sussex said the
experience “awakened to the millions of ways, big and small, in which our
society tries to include women.”
Twitter users criticized
Markle for re-sharing the “yawn” provocative childhood story, claiming it makes
her “pathetic” continue discussing the alleged injustice 30 years later.
Her critics also called the
podcast intolerable, noting that they were “ready to turn it off after 20
seconds.”
