A man identified as Abdulrasheed Usman tragically collapsed and died while breaking his Ramadan fast in Kutunku, Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
According to a witness, Suleiman Bala, the incident occurred on Saturday, March 1, 2025, while Usman was sharing a meal with three friends. He recounted that they were sitting on a bench eating fruits when Usman suddenly slumped.
His friends quickly transported him to a nearby hospital on a motorcycle, but the doctor on duty confirmed him dead on arrival.
Bala added that Usman, who appeared to be in good health, had returned from Kaduna around 5:47 pm and immediately joined his friends to break his fast.
“One of his brothers mentioned that he had just arrived from Kaduna and went to meet his friends at their usual spot. As the Maghrib prayer was called, he joined them for the meal, and it was during this time that the unfortunate incident occurred,” the witness said.
Usman’s remains have since been laid to rest in accordance with Islamic rites.
