Prince Harry appeared in a video message as the fallout from his resignation from his charity, Sentebale, continues to unfold. However, Prince Harry, 40, chose not to address the controversy, instead highlighting the achievements of his sustainable tourism initiative, Travalyst.
The Duke shared his message on April 1, coinciding with the release of Travalyst’s “Five-Year Milestone Report.” Filming from the terrace of his Montecito mansion, which he shares with wife Meghan and their two children, Harry stressed the urgent need for further progress in sustainable development.
“We’re now just five years away from the 2030 deadline for the sustainable development goals— a global blueprint for creating a more resilient planet and literally saving ourselves,” Harry stated. “But it’s clear we’re not making the necessary progress, and the economic impacts are only increasing.
“These realities leave us with a choice: find practical solutions to climate change or accept the significant financial and human losses that we’re witnessing. I think we all agree that the latter isn’t the answer.”

Discussing the positive impact of travel, Harry remarked that it “can do a tremendous amount of good,” noting that it connects us to beloved destinations and the communities that inhabit them. “It drives economic growth, creates jobs, and when done right, can protect the people, wildlife, and environment we all share.”
A Different Kind of Travel Initiative
Founded in 2019, Travalyst aims to change the impact of travel for the better, operating in partnership with Booking.com, Skyscanner, Trip.com, TripAdvisor, and Visa.
Harry continued, “When we established Travalyst six years ago, the goal was simple: I wanted to harness the power and potential of travel to help create a more resilient world, and I’m proud of what we’ve achieved.”
He highlighted the initiative’s role as the “first and only independent organization to mobilize competing tech and travel companies that recognize the business sense in sustainability,” as well as its participation in global events like COP29 in Baku.
Concluding his video message, Harry said, “We’ve worked directly with destinations and local businesses to learn how we can assist them on their sustainability journey, and while we’ve made real strides, there’s still much more to be done to protect the people and places we all rely on.
“Our new report outlines the unique role we believe travelers can play at this crucial juncture, and we invite you to join us on this journey.”
