A Nigerian medical doctor, known by the handle @ourfavonlinedoc on X (formerly Twitter), has publicly called out the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), urging the agency to investigate former Niger Delta militant, Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo.
The doctor’s reaction comes after a viral video surfaced online showing Tompolo being lavishly sprayed with Naira notes while dancing at a public event. In the video, the former militant can be seen moving through piles of cash as guests throw banknotes in celebration.
In his post, @ourfavonlinedoc tagged the EFCC directly, writing: “Dear @officialEFCC, come out o. Here is Tompolo mutilating the Naira.
“I know the eyes of that your eagle will suddenly go blind, but I am bringing this to your attention publicly so the whole world will see you are a shameless agency with double standards.”

He went on to emphasize that Naira mutilation goes beyond spraying, noting that stepping on and dancing on currency also falls under violations of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s guidelines.
“Mutilation of the Naira is not just spraying it. It is stepping on the currency, dancing on it, and engaging in any activity that damages the integrity of the notes.”
The doctor further criticized those defending the act, stating: “I would expect that human beings with a working brain would know something this simple and basic. But of course, moronic slaves committed to the defense of their oppressors won’t know this.”

The post has since sparked debate online, with many questioning whether the EFCC will respond to the allegations or ignore the incident entirely. As of now, the EFCC has not issued any official statement regarding the video.
