To mark their seventh wedding anniversary on Monday, the Duchess of Sussex shared a heartfelt collection of personal photographs—including a never-before-seen image of newborn Prince Archie just hours after his birth.
The touching photo captures a tender moment at London’s Portland Hospital, with baby Archie swaddled in a patterned blanket while a beaming Prince Harry gently cradles his son and gazes down at him with pride.
The Instagram collage also featured intimate glimpses from Meghan’s first pregnancy, including a photo of her bare baby bump and an ultrasound image.
Archie was born at 5:26 a.m. on May 6, 2019. In a break from royal tradition, there was no hospital photocall at the time.
Instead, Prince Harry gave a brief television interview shortly after the birth, sharing his joy: “I haven’t been at many births—this is definitely my first—but it was amazing, absolutely incredible. I’m so incredibly proud of my wife. As every father and parent would ever say, your baby is absolutely amazing. But this little thing is absolutely to die for. So, I’m just over the moon.”
Two days later, the couple formally introduced Archie Harrison to the world during a brief appearance at St George’s Hall in Windsor Castle, where they revealed his name for the first time.
