James Martin is getting ready to tie the knot with his girlfriend Kim Johnson, despite his words that he would never get married.
The Saturday Kitchen star, 53, changed his mind about marriage and popped the question to the personal trainer, 39, after nearly two years of dating and celebrated by gifting her a £150,000 new car.
The joyous Kim treated fans to a glimpse into their festive week together, with the couple enjoying a ride on the Polar Express on Thursday in matching pyjamas.
She also revealed on her Instagram Stories that James splashed out on a Land Rover Defender for her, saying she was ‘gobsmacked’ by the lavish present.
Sharing a photo of the brand-new luxury vehicle, Kim wrote: ‘James Martin I am speechless!!’
The expensive gift was an engagement present from James, The Sun confirmed.
An insider revealed: ‘James and Kim may have been dating for less than two years, but when you know, you know.
‘Of course it’s taken James decades to finally get there and friends do share a wry smile that he’s U-turned on his staunch refusal to ever marry.
‘But everyone has seen the change in him since meeting Kim and he’s never been happier. They are a wonderful couple,’ she concluded.
James and Kim’s romance was first revealed when they were spotted shopping for jewellery at Tiffany’s in Mayfair back in April last year.
