Iran is attempting to meddle in America’s midterm elections by urging voters to throw U.S. President Donald Trump out of office in the upcoming November 3 midterm elections, just five weeks before Americans head to the polls.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps made the appeal in a 26-page letter addressed to US voters on Tuesday.
IRGC spokesman Hossein Mohebbi released a document addressed directly to American citizens.
‘Remove from power the evil, deceitful, and violent politicians who are responsible for America’s current state,’ the 26-page Iranian letter to US voters warned.
‘Make sure your politicians understand that the world has changed.’
The letter comes just days after Trump rejected Tehran’s latest bid to revive the collapsed ceasefire in a war now entering its eighth month.
Under the plan, the US would have lifted its blockade of Iranian ports and Iran would have reopened the Strait of Hormuz within seven days.
Iran now says it has received a US response through Qatari mediators, but the two sides remain split over which steps should come first.
The strait carried a fifth of the world’s oil before the war, and traffic through it remains badly choked.
The costly war with Iran has become a major political challenge for Republicans as voters express frustration over rising inflation, energy costs, and climbing mortgage rates.
