The Benue State branch of
the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is on fire.
It was gathered that the fire
started from the fuel dome of the building, however, it did not affect other
sections.
At the time of filing this
report, calm has been restored as people in the area are seen going about their
normal businesses.
The Director of Benue State
Fire Service, Donald Ikyaaza, on Thursday confirmed the incident.
He further stated that he
received a call informing him about the fire and he immediately drafted his men
to the scene.
Ikyaaza said, “It was
actually a huge fire which started at the company’s fuel dome but my men rushed
to the scene and put out the fire before it could spread to other parts of the
bank. Everywhere is calm now.”
