So what then happens when a narcissist is in love; what will happen to the person they claim to love; what does love means to them and how do they interpret and demonstrate their love; what does a narcissist really mean when they say ‘I love you’?
Let’s Consider What The Love Of A Narcissist Actually Means:
1. It Means You Are Their Obsession
The core element in a narcissist’s love is obsession. They are obsessed with the person they claim to love; it is an unhealthy fixation that control and influence them to be like that. This way of love is very choking and make them behave to their lover like they are under an influence of evil spirit without actual possession. The feelings they’ve got for the person they claim to love bring them to the state of being enthralled with what is compulsive and irrational.
Their lover will never have a breathing space, and will always feel like unhealthy emotions are being stuffed in them forcefully, It makes them want to throw up and run away.
2. To Satisfy Their Ego
Narcissists have their pride to warm up. At the beginning, you might be a prize he wants to win and he is very ready to pay any price to be another prize in his trophy cabinet. They would pit their ego against your feelings/emotions and see how far they can really go with you. They want to know their worth and are only playing a game with themselves in the name of love.
3. It Means ‘Be My Provider’
A narcissist is a parasite in love that would feed on all what you’ve got. Everything is flowing from you to them and nothing will flow from them to you. To the narcissist, the person they claim to love is the one that will sponsor their feelings and emotions and would still come at hard at them after they must have been drained.
Narcissist will always have nothing to give to their lover, but they will demand from their partner everything in them. When a narcissist says ‘I love you’, they are saying “work for me” – and not work with me. They only come to you because they see many things you will offer them and still make you that they are doing you are a favour for loving you in that manner.
4. It Means ‘Let Me Use You’
When a narcissist says ‘I love you’, they are saying let me use you; let me hire you for a purpose for some duration. They profess their love to you because you will be everything they need for them. In the relationship, you won’t feel supported and won’t feel loved, you won’t be able to laugh and smile genuinely; you won’t feel valued; you won’t feel heard despite the multitude of words you say.
They use you and treat you as a thing. They are users; they are only around you for their selfish motive.
