Meghan Markle Didn’t Confirm If Her Archetypes Podcast Will Be Back

Meghan Markle Speaks To Daily Show Host Trevor And Judd Apatow

The final episode of Meghan Markle’s podcast Archetypes has ended on an awkward note with no sign as to whether the $18 million Spotify series will return for a second season.

The Duchess of Sussex sat down with Real Housewives creator Andy Cohen where she revealed she used to be a “huge fan” and was star-struck when she earlier met him on two occasions.

But the episode took off on an embarrassing note when Cohen began with “nice to meet you, ” which clearly showed he had no recollection of ever coming into contact with Meghan in the past.

“I met you before. You’ll never remember it,” Meghan said. “You’re joking,” Cohen replied.

The response prompted laughter from Meghan who said: “Would I joke about that? This is great. I met you twice. The first one is when Suits wasn’t even on, yet. And then when we had maybe season two or three, we were in New York.”

Meghan also added she had unsuccessfully tried to make an appearance on Cohen’s late-night talk show, Watch What Happens Live.

“I was so eager to be on your show because I was such a Housewives fan at the time and I just couldn’t get booked Andy,” she said, to which Cohen joked: “It is now the biggest blunder in the 13 years of the show.”

After admitting she had been a Housewives fan for a number of years Cohen quizzed the Duchess on whether she still tunes in.

“Well, I will tell you the truth. I stopped watching the Housewives when my life had its own level of drama,” she replied.

Cohen joked the Duchess could appear on the show without needing to audition, but Meghan quickly shot down the idea, replying: “‘There will be no reality show.”

The episode, titled Man-infesting A Cultural Shift, is the 12th installment of Meghan’s Archetypes podcast and explores how men can be better allies with guests Trevor Noah, Judd Apatow and Andy Cohen.

As Meghan closed the season finale on Wednesday she turned to a pointed piece of poetry about survival.

“What didn’t you do to bury me? But you forgot that I was a seed,” she said, reciting a couplet by Greek poet Dinos Christianopoulos.

The completion of the 12 episodes comes two years after she signed an $18 million deal with Spotify.

But Meghan failed to reveal in the finale if the series would return.

In September, the show ranked as Spotify’s “Top Podcast” in the United States, the United Kingdom and all of the streaming giant’s English-speaking markets.

At the time Spotify was accused of manipulating the charts to keep Meghan at No.1 with skepticism mounting Archetypes had fewer listeners than Joe Rogan and other stars.
