In her new Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex opened up about her meticulous cleaning habits—including a surprising routine she follows whenever she stays in a hotel.
During the third episode, Two Kids from LA, Meghan was joined by chef Roy Choi to cook fried chicken with kimchi and pickled vegetables. As they chopped ingredients, Roy began wiping down the counters, explaining that he likes to clean as he cooks.
“I do that, too,” Meghan chimed in. “I’m not messy in the kitchen. I always clean as we go.”
Roy then admitted, “I clean up hotel rooms before we go. I don’t know if you do that?”
Without hesitation, Meghan replied, “I do. I just tidy up—I make the bed or put the dirty towels in the bathtub, right?”
Roy went on to share how, even after partying in hotel rooms with friends, he would always go back and throw away empty beer cans.
Meghan agreed, adding, “Yes, because it’s just embarrassing.” She then credited her mother, Doria Ragland, and grandmother for instilling her neat habits.
“Even if you don’t know the people, even if they don’t know who you are, I would just picture my mom or my grandma going, ‘Where is your home training?'” she shared.
For those yet to tune into With Love, Meghan, the eight-episode lifestyle series features an array of celebrity guests, including The Office star Mindy Kaling, Meghan’s longtime makeup artist Daniel Martin, and even a cameo from Prince Harry.
