Meghan Markle offered a candid look into her personal journey and family life during her first-ever podcast appearance on The Jamie Kern Lima Show. In the emotional interview, the Duchess of Sussex spoke about her bond with Prince Harry, their children, and the pressures she’s faced over the years.

Speaking with host Jamie Kern Lima, founder of IT Cosmetics, Meghan reflected on the early days of her relationship with Prince Harry, revealing that their connection was quickly tested by intense public scrutiny and personal challenges.

“At the beginning, it’s all butterflies,” Meghan said. “But then we immediately went into the trenches together—right out of the gate, about six months into dating. So now, seven years later, when there’s finally some breathing space, we can really enjoy each other. It actually feels like a honeymoon phase for us now.”

Letting Go of the Need to Prove Herself

The Duchess also opened up about her struggles with constantly feeling the need to prove her worth—something she says she’s finally stepping away from.

“I think so many of us spend our lives trying to prove that we’re enough—you try to prove you’re pretty enough, smart enough, a good enough wife, friend, or mother,” she said.

“But I got to the point where I thought, ‘I’m done with the proving game.’ If someone can’t see it, that’s their loss. I know I’m a good mum, I know the kind of friend I am, and I know the kind of human being I am. And I love being that person for the people I love.”

The interview comes on the heels of Meghan launching her own podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, which focuses on her experiences as an entrepreneur and advocate for women.
