A 29-year-old woman is recovering in hospital after she was brutally attacked and stabbed multiple times by her former partner in a premeditated assault at her home in Waterloo, KwaZulu-Natal.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, May 11, 2025. According to initial reports, the woman had just returned to her residence on Goat Street after attending a party when the suspect, her ex-boyfriend, allegedly forced his way into the home.

Once inside, he confronted her with accusations of infidelity before producing a kitchen knife and stabbing her repeatedly. The attack only ceased when the knife reportedly broke. The victim’s screams for help alerted neighbors, prompting the suspect to flee the scene.
Emergency services were contacted, and the woman—who sustained multiple stab wounds to her head and body—was rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrived at the scene at approximately 01:18 and launched an extensive search operation. However, the suspect remains at large.
Authorities are continuing their investigation and have urged anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts to come forward.
