Jennifer Lopez is facing a $300,000 lawsuit after allegedly posting copyrighted photos from the 2025 Golden Globe Awards to her social media without securing the necessary permissions.
The actress and singer stunned on the red carpet on January 5, wearing a white gown and faux fur coat. Shortly after the event, she shared five photos from the evening with the caption “GG Weekend Glamour.” The images quickly circulated across fan pages and media outlets.
However, two of those photos are now at the center of a legal battle. Celebrity photographer Edwin Blanco and his agency, Backgrid, have filed a copyright infringement lawsuit, claiming Lopez used their work without authorization. They are seeking $150,000 in damages per photo.
According to the complaint, Lopez used the images to promote her personal brand and highlight her fashion partnerships by tagging designers and luxury labels.
“Ms. Lopez’s unauthorized use of the images is commercial in nature,” the lawsuit states, arguing that she gained publicity and promotional value from the unlicensed posts.
The suit also alleges that Lopez’s team had been in talks to license the photos but never finalized the agreement.
This isn’t the first time Lopez has faced legal issues over photo rights. She was previously sued in 2019 and 2020 for similar cases involving the unlicensed use of professional photography on social media.
