Veteran Nollywood actress Tina Mbah has a clear message for her fellow actors: don’t lose sight of your passion for love at the expense of your career.
During a recent appearance on Lights, Camera – It’s My Turn, the seasoned actress openly urged her colleagues not to sacrifice their professional aspirations just to keep a partner content.
She pointed out that warning signs are often evident from the beginning. “He met you as an actor, married you as an actor, and suddenly expects you to quit?” she questioned. “Stay alert. Observe. Don’t overlook those signals.”
A proud mother of two, Mbah also drew from her personal journey, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding your dreams—sometimes even suggesting drafting a marriage agreement before saying “I do.”
“Marriage is wonderful, but no one forced you into it,” she remarked. “You didn’t make him give up his job, so why should you give up yours?”
Her core advice? Be wise, stay observant, and if your love doesn’t support your hustle, don’t be afraid to walk away.
“Don’t chase after illusions,” she concluded. “Be an antique babe like me.”
