An 18-year-old boy from Anambra State has reportedly impregnated at least ten girls, prompting public concern and appeals for intervention.
The startling revelation was made by the Anambra State Commissioner for Women’s Affairs and Social Welfare, Ify Obinabo, who shared the incident via Facebook. She admitted that the situation has grown beyond her capacity and asked the public for guidance.
According to Obinabo, the teenager was sent to serve as an apprentice under a businessman, but within just three months, he had impregnated both his boss’s daughter and the salesgirl. He was subsequently expelled from the apprenticeship.
However, the situation escalated further when, only two months after returning to his village, he impregnated eight additional girls.

In a live video statement, Obinabo expressed her concern: “I’m calling on the public for advice because this case is beyond me. The boy was sent to learn a trade at age 18. After just three months, he impregnated his oga’s daughter and their salesgirl. When he was sent away and returned to the village, he went on to impregnate eight more girls.”
She added that the boy’s mother reported the matter, expressing fear and distress over the situation.
“According to his mother, every time she sees a young girl approaching her house now, her heart skips. She’s overwhelmed and wants help,” Obinabo explained.
Obinabo also shared part of her conversation with the boy: “I asked him how he convinces so many girls. He said he simply tells them he loves them and promises to marry them once he becomes wealthy.”
Concluding her appeal, the commissioner said: “This issue is disturbing—not just because of his age, but also the number of girls involved. I’m really seeking help to understand if there’s a deeper issue, even something spiritual, at play.”
