Kim Kardashian is using her platform to speak out against the controversial ICE raids currently unfolding in Los Angeles, which have triggered widespread protests and raised alarms across the nation.
The raids, part of a sweeping immigration crackdown ordered by former President Donald Trump, began on Friday, June 6, and have since ignited mass demonstrations throughout the city.
In a highly controversial move, Trump deployed thousands of National Guard troops — including 700 Marines — to Los Angeles without the consent of California Governor Gavin Newsom.
Governor Newsom condemned the action, calling it “a reckless overreach that inflamed an already combustible situation,” and has since challenged the deployment in court.
Amid growing public outrage, Kardashian took to Instagram Stories to express her concerns.
“When we’re told that ICE exists to keep our country safe and remove violent criminals—great,” she wrote. “But when we witness innocent, hardworking people being ripped from their families in inhumane ways, we have to speak up. We have to do what’s right.”
The reality star and justice reform advocate reflected on her upbringing in Los Angeles, highlighting the vital role immigrants play in the city’s cultural and economic fabric.
“Growing up in LA, I’ve seen how deeply immigrants are woven into the heart of this city. They are our neighbors, our friends, our classmates, coworkers, and family.”
She continued: “No matter where you fall politically, it’s clear that our communities thrive because of the contributions of immigrants. We can’t turn a blind eye when fear and injustice keep people from living their lives freely and safely. There HAS to be a BETTER way.”
Kardashian, who has previously worked on criminal justice reform and clemency cases, joins a growing list of public figures calling for humane immigration policies and accountability in federal enforcement.
