Nigerian rapper and singer Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has addressed the controversy sparked by his statement that fornication is not a sin, emphasizing that he follows what he calls the “religion of love.”

The remark came during an interview with Arise TV, following widespread backlash to his earlier post on X, where he boldly declared: “Fornication isn’t a sin.”

His comment quickly attracted criticism from both Christian and Muslim audiences, many of whom cited religious scriptures to refute his claim.

Responding to the backlash, Falz explained that his statement was not grounded in any specific religious doctrine.

He clarified: “I think people would read the tweet and just assume that I meant according to Christianity. I wasn’t really speaking from that perspective. I practice the religion of love. Under that religion, I don’t think fornication is a sin.”

He further questioned the justification for condemning premarital sex, challenging conventional views on the subject.
