Iranian forces launched a barrage of ballistic missiles targeting the base in Jordan housing some US fighter jets following recent U.S. strikes that destroyed several Iranian oil tankers.

Roughly nine American aircraft were damaged in a barrage of Iranian strikes at the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan, according to CBS News.

U.S. officials and media reports confirmed that one A-10 ‘Warthog’ ground-attack aircraft suffered severe damage, including a missing wing. About eight F-15 fighters sustained minor, superficial damage and were quickly repaired and returned to active service.

Eight F-15s, each worth upwards of $90 million, also sustained light damage but are back in operation. Overnight, US forces fired more than 30 Patriot missiles to defend against the attacks, sources told CBS News.

US military officials have previously said they are concerned about dwindling stockpiles of Patriot missiles and other precision munitions used against Iranian forces.

The latest attacks occurred just hours after Trump warned Iran against activity at one of the regime’s suspected nuclear sites, Pickaxe Mountain.
