Hollywood actor Brad Pitt is reportedly suing his ex-wife Angelina Jolie for $35million, as their tense legal battle takes a new turn.
The couple formerly known as Brangelina have been involved in a lengthy dispute after Pitt accused Jolie of breaching their prior agreement regarding their French winery, Chateau Miraval.
The French winery was bought by the couple in happier times back in 2011 for roughly $60 million.
Following their divorce proceedings, initiated by Jolie in 2019, she is thought to be considering selling the property, but the former power couple are said to have made a pact to never sell their shares without the other person’s consent.
New court documents filed by Brad’s legal team detail an email exchange between the legal teams for the former married couple and reveal that Pitt filed to sue Jolie for $35 million as a result of the alleged breach.
One extract of the exchange read: ‘The burdensome nature of any production is a matter of Mr. Pitt’s own creation – he is suing Ms. Jolie for $35 million in damages. As a result, he has to incur the expense of producing the documents that will show (or not show) those damages.’
