Brooklyn Beckham faced intense backlash from fans after reposting a viral video showing him cook tomato pasta using raw ocean water collected from a luxury yacht.
The aspiring chef rolled up his trousers, stepped into the sea next to a yacht, and dipped a metal saucepan directly into the ocean to gather ‘pasta water’ before cooking spaghetti with cherry tomatoes, olive oil, and his Cloud23 hot sauce.
The dish involves cooking the spaghetti directly in the pan, instead of boiling it in salted water and finishing it with a sauce.
A broth typically made of tomato sauce diluted with water is gradually added to the pan as the pasta absorbs it, similar to a risotto.
However some of his followers weren’t convinced by his version of the meal, as they claimed it looked ‘vile’ and even called him a ‘spaghetti murderer’.
He then responded in the comments with a meme from the sitcom Friends, showing Ross Geller doing the ‘friendly middle finger’ – which is considered a more polite version of the rude gesture.
He also took to his Story to say: ‘For all the lovely comments about me always burning my food, this pasta is supposed to be burnt sooooooo.’
Some fans backed him up on this in the comments by pointing out that the correct way to make it is by adding the dry spaghetti directly into the pan to give it a charred taste.
