31 Things About Manhattan Trump’s Home Interior Decor 2019

After: Living Room
In the living room, a former artist’s studio, the home’s original circa-1908 chandelier hangs above a pair of Langham & Co. chaise longues flanking a vintage Karl Springer table; a Chinese temple rubbing is mounted on the wall.

Before: Living Room

By keeping the original flooring, balustrade, and chandelier, Shutler and designer Richard Keith Langham maintained the apartment’s historic character; re-staining and repainting the elements gave them a clean, modern look.

Decorator Richard Keith Langham, in collaboration with Shutler Architects, renovated a historic New York apartment for philanthropist Blaine Trump (above).

Painted in a Benjamin Moore gray, the living room features a 1991 Cleve Gray canvas displayed over a Langham & Co. sofa, which is paired with a ’60s French cocktail table; the 18th-century Russian carved-back armchair is cushioned in a Manuel Canovas fabric, and the sisal is by Stark.

Before: Entrance Hall

Architect Rob Shutler discovered that the front and back windows, which formerly belonged to two separate apartments, lined up perfectly. So he knocked out interceding walls and reorganized the first floor around a well-lit central corridor.

After: Entrance Hall

A Tony Duquette fixture by Remains Lighting crowns the opened-up entrance hall, where an 18th-century portrait by Thomas Gibson surmounts a Baccarat console; the Chinese garden seat is from John Rosselli Antiques.

After: Dining Room

In the dining room, a banquette covered in a Stark fabric frames a Julian Chichester pedestal table; the antique mahogany side chairs are upholstered in an Hermès fabric.

After: Staircase

An elegant bar is nestled beneath the staircase.

After: Guest Room

A Castel stripe from Donghia is used for the guest room’s bed curtains and Roman shade; the pillows are made of a Ralph Lauren Home glen plaid, the dresser is by Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, and the Anglo-Indian chair is 19th century.

Before: Master Bedroom

To reinforce a sense of home, Langham sprinkled the duplex with artworks and furnishings Blaine Trump already owned and surrounded her with familiar decor, including the master bedroom’s gray-and-lavender palette, which recalls one of her favorite rooms from another house decorated many years ago.

After: Master Bedroom

The master bedroom is sheathed in a custom-made Vervain linen; the sheers and bed curtains are of a Clarence House fabric, the bench is by Julian Chichester, and the carpet is by Stark.
