On 20 January 2020 the UK will host the UK-Africa Investment Summit in London. The Summit will be hosted by the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson and will bring together businesses, governments and international institutions to showcase and promote the breadth and quality of investment opportunities across Africa.
The Summit will strengthen the UK’s partnership with African nations to build a secure and prosperous future for all our citizens. It will mobilise new and substantial investment to create jobs and boost mutual prosperity.
However, Kensington Palace has announced that on behalf of the Queen, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will host a reception at Buckingham Palace to mark the event.
This will be their first official engagement after the holiday break where they both attended church service with the Queen in Sandringham last weekend and hosted some of their friends at their country home Anmer Hall in Norfolk to kick off Kate’s early birthday celebration, spent Christmas Day in Sandringham with their eldest children and took part took part in a festive TV special with Mary Berry in December.
