Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, has added his voice to the calls for the release of the arrested Biafra agitator, Nnamdi Kanu.
Mazi Kanu who is the leader of the proscribed IPOB has been in detention following his re-arrest and return to Nigeria by the federal government.
The IPOB leader who is currently in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS), is facing charges bordering on terrorism and treasonable felony brought against him by the government.
Taking to his Twitter handle on Wednesday, Yul Edochie called on President Muhammadu Buhari to release the IPOB leader and engage in dialogue. He said the force should not be adopted in resolving the issue at hand, urging the President to listen to the voice of the people.
According to him, a complex and multi-ethnic country like Nigeria will also experience agitation for break up from different quarters and for various reasons.
He tweeted: “Release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and call for dialogue. In a multi-tribal country like Nigeria, there’ll always be agitation from different quarters.
“To keep the country united you should listen to your people, know why they’re agitating and resolve it peacefully. Not by the use of force.”
