Since suffering
a stroke over two months ago, Meghan Markle’s estranged
father Thomas Markle has made his first public appearance.
In a video that was aired as
part of an interview his son gave, Thomas Markle, 77, made a brief return to
the public spotlight. In the interview, the son spoke candidly about his
father’s progress.
Thomas Markle was shown
writing on a whiteboard in the footage, which was featured on GB News during an
interview with Thomas Markle Jr., to communicate after suffering a stroke that
left him mostly unable to talk.
On Dan Wootton’s programme, he
created a placard that stated, “Hi Dan, I appreciate your kind words and those
of the British people.
On May 23, Thomas Markle
experienced a stroke, and he was hospitalized for five days.
A blood clot in his right side
of the brain was the root cause of the severe stroke.
He eventually recovered after
being taken to the hospital in a hurry and was able to utter a few words, but
it will be difficult for him to speak normally once again.
He reportedly said, “I feel
hugely grateful and know how lucky I am to be alive” a few weeks ago, upon his
discharge.
he continued, “I want to thank everyone, especially the wonderful doctors and nurses who saved my life. They are angels.
I have been deeply moved by loving messages I’ve received from all over the
world. People have been so kind. I can’t speak right now, but I am working hard
and will thank people properly when I can.”
He had intended to travel to
the UK in June to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, but the stroke put a stop
to his plans.
