Tina Brown Says Prince Harry 'Has A Role To Play' In Royal Family

Royal author Tina Brown appeared on ITV Lorraine today to reflect on the Queen’s funeral which took place yesterday (September 20) at Westminster Abbey.

Speaking to the ITV host, Tina Brown, who is the author of the explosive royal book The Palace Papers, gave her verdict on what the future holds for Prince Harry and his family, who were thrust into an unexpected reconciliation of sorts following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Harry and his wife Meghan Markle quit as senior working royals more than two years ago, but the couple was in Europe when the Queen’s health took a turn for the worst.

Since her death, Harry has been seen with his family on numerous occasions and welcomed back into the fold for events such as funeral processions and visits to floral tributes.

Discussing what’s next, Tina told Lorraine that the Royal Family “need Harry back” for good and that the Duke of Sussex has a “huge role to play” if he wants to.

Tina said: “I do think the royal family needs them (the Sussexes). There’s a lot of work to be done.”

She added: “And Kate does not want to be spending her time traveling the world. She’s a mother with children. As the Sussexes are. They have to somehow divvy this stuff up and Harry has a big role to play if he wants to come in and do it.

“The question is of course whether Meghan wants to because she absolutely hated every bit of it.”

Harry himself has a tell-all book coming up, which is thought to have been postponed in the wake of the Queen’s death. Tina said: “I think unless he does give up his book and these tell-all documentaries then there can be no trust.”

Lorraine agreed saying: “The biggest compromise is that he bins the book, if he does that it’s a fresh page.”

Tina then said: “They should definitely make that compromise. If Harry doesn’t want to bin the book then I don’t see a way forward. Which would be very sad. “

Tina previously claimed that Prince Harry was “lost” after he left the army while his brother Prince William’s “path was clear”.

In her book, The Palace Papers, Tina said that Prince Harry was acutely aware of the fact he was “the number two” sibling when he left the army.
