Prince Harry has today insisted he wants to reconcile with his estranged family members, including King Charles and Prince William, during an interview with GQ.
Harry expressed that he wants to fix the family rift, noting that ‘there’s enough drama in the world… to continue with issues with family’ and that reconciliation is the most important priority.
The Duke of Sussex, who has not spoken to his brother for four years, admitted in an interview with GQ that he is grieving his ‘complicated relationships’ with the King and the Prince of Wales.
Asked directly whether he really wanted to heal the rift with his brother and father, Harry replied: ‘Of course I do. With everything else that’s going on in the world, the most important thing is to reconcile. That’s the key point.’
Hours after the interview, he has been forced to deny he was taking a dig at Prince William after declaring: ‘Some people don’t want it to work out. I want it to work out.’
A Sussex spokesman said: ‘It was absolutely not intended as a swipe at his brother or any other member of his family.
‘The comment was made in a general context and was not directed at his family in any way.’
Harry’s reconciliation plea came as the King and Queen, as well as William and Catherine, gathered in Windsor today for the State Visit of the Sultan of Oman.
