Despite her extensive experience in the public eye—first as an actress and later as a member of the royal family—Meghan Markle admits she still encounters nerve-wracking situations.

Now settled in Montecito with Prince Harry and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, Meghan has embraced a quieter life since relocating to Santa Barbara in 2020. A longtime yoga enthusiast, she recently shared an awkward moment she experienced during a local group class.

Speaking to PEOPLE magazine, the Duchess of Sussex recounted: “I go to group classes that sometimes have 40 to 50 people in them and just walk in like, ‘Hi!’ Of course, at the beginning, that felt like a lot. I think anyone walking into a yoga class with 50 people, especially as one of the last to arrive, would find it a bit uncomfortable!”

She went on to describe a recent class experience: “The other day, I was there alone—sometimes I go with girlfriends, but this time I went solo—and in the middle of the class, they said, ‘Great, tell the person next to you they’re doing a great job, give them a fist pump.’ I looked to one side and gave a fist bump, saying, ‘Well done!’ Then I turned to the other side, saw another person, and went, ‘Nicely done! Come on, guys!'”

Despite the initial discomfort, Meghan expressed her appreciation for the sense of connection: “That’s part of how you bond. I love it. It’s the best. I had missed it. It’s awesome.”

The candid revelation comes amid a busy period for Meghan, who recently launched her eight-episode Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, where she shares insights on cooking, gardening, and entertaining.
