Representatives for Meghan Markle have issued a prompt denial after a podcast episode sparked confusion over her use of the royal title “Her Royal Highness.”
The controversy arose during an episode of The Jamie Kern Lima Show, in which host Jamie Kern Lima showcased a thoughtful gift basket she had received from Meghan.
The package included homemade strawberry sauce, ice cream, and a card signed: “With Compliments of HRH The Duchess of Sussex.”
The signature quickly drew attention, as both Meghan and Prince Harry stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and agreed not to use their HRH titles in an official capacity.
In response to the speculation, a spokesperson for the Sussexes clarified that the couple “do not use” their HRH styles, reiterating the terms of their 2020 agreement with the late Queen Elizabeth II. While they technically retain the titles, they have refrained from using them publicly since their departure from royal life—a move often referred to as “Megxit.”
