Nollywood actress and plus-size model Monalisa Ayobami Stephen has sadly passed away.
The news was confirmed by Seun Oloketuyi, CEO of Best of Nollywood (BON), in an Instagram post on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. According to Oloketuyi, Stephen died on Tuesday, May 13, following complications related to low blood sugar and internal bleeding.
Her passing was confirmed by her younger sister, who described her as a hardworking and vibrant soul.
“Brand influencer Monalisa Ayobami Stephen is gone. She passed away yesterday in Lagos after battling low blood sugar and internal bleeding. Her immediate younger sister has confirmed the heartbreaking news,” Oloketuyi shared in his post.
Stephen was known for her body positivity advocacy and her presence both on screen and in the influencer space. Her death has prompted an outpouring of grief from fans and colleagues across the entertainment industry.
