French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron are set to pay a formal state visit to the United Kingdom this summer, at the invitation of King Charles III.

The visit will take place from Tuesday 8 July to Thursday 10 July 2025, with the Macrons staying at Windsor Castle during their time in the UK. Their itinerary will include a grand state banquet, hosted in their honour by the King.

In an official statement, Buckingham Palace confirmed: “The President of the French Republic, His Excellency Emmanuel Macron, accompanied by Mrs Brigitte Macron, has accepted an invitation from His Majesty The King to pay a State Visit to the United Kingdom from Tuesday 8th July to Thursday 10th July 2025. The President and Mrs Macron will stay at Windsor Castle.”

While Buckingham Palace traditionally serves as the main residence for state visits, it remains under extensive refurbishment. As a result, Windsor Castle, the King’s historic Berkshire residence, will serve as the official setting for this high-profile diplomatic occasion.

This visit underscores the continued strength of the Anglo-French relationship and will mark another chapter in the long history of shared values, cultural ties, and cooperation between the two nations.
