Prince William broke from his weekend to share a personal note with football fans following his solo attendance at the FA Cup final on Saturday.
Taking to the official X account he shares with Princess Kate, the Prince of Wales, 42, congratulated Crystal Palace on their remarkable triumph over Manchester City.
He wrote: “Congratulations @CPFC on a brilliant FA Cup victory! A historic win and a performance to remember. The support was amazing — you’ve made your fans proud!”
The message accompanied a dynamic video capturing highlights from the Wembley showdown, where Crystal Palace clinched a surprise 1-0 victory thanks to a decisive goal by England star Eberechi Eze.

Upcoming Royal Visit to Scotland: HMS Glasgow Naming Ceremony
William and Kate are set to travel to Glasgow on Thursday, May 22, for a significant royal engagement: the naming ceremony of HMS Glasgow at BAE Systems’ shipyard in Scotstoun.
The visit will be especially meaningful for Princess Kate, who was named Sponsor of HMS Glasgow in 2021 — a ceremonial role steeped in naval tradition. In line with maritime customs, she will christen the ship by smashing a bottle of whisky against the hull.
The royal couple will also tour the vessel and speak with key representatives from the Royal Navy and BAE Systems about the ship’s advanced capabilities and the progress of its construction.
Spotlight on Future Generations of Shipbuilders
As part of the engagement, William and Kate will spend time at the BAE Systems Shipbuilding Academy, where they’ll meet apprentices and graduates working on HMS Glasgow.
The visit will offer the couple insight into the technical training involved — from welding and fabrication to electrical engineering and metalwork — and shine a light on the next generation driving innovation within the UK’s shipbuilding sector.
