Just days after announcing she is expecting her second child, Princess Alexandra of Luxembourg proudly debuted her baby bump during a special public appearance.
The 34-year-old royal joined members of the Grand Ducal Family for the closing ceremony of the Octave Celebrations—a significant religious procession honoring Our Lady of Luxembourg.
Despite the rainy weather, Alexandra was all smiles as she stood beside her husband, Nicolas Bagory, who held an umbrella protectively over her during the event.
Dressed elegantly in a grey dress that gently accentuated her growing bump, Princess Alexandra looked radiant. She wore her brunette hair down, appearing composed and serene as she took part in the tradition-filled event.
Photos shared by the Grand Ducal Court captured the family moment, showing Alexandra standing with Nicolas, as well as Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume, who carried his young son, Prince Charles. Grand Duke Henri was also seen sweetly holding his grandson, Prince François, alongside Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, who doted affectionately on the little one.
In a caption posted with the images, the Court wrote: “This Sunday afternoon, the Grand Ducal Family took part in the procession closing the Octave celebrations, which included groups of numerous pilgrims, worshippers, and members of associations. At the end of the procession, the Grand Ducal Family greeted the public from the balcony of the Palace.”
A Royal Baby on the Way
Princess Alexandra and Nicolas Bagory announced their joyful news on 22 May, releasing an official statement through the Court:
“Their Royal Highnesses the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess have the great pleasure of announcing that Princess Alexandra and Mister Nicolas Bagory are expecting their second child.”
The couple’s baby is expected to arrive in the autumn, with both families expressing their delight at the upcoming addition: “The Grand Duke, Grand Duchess and members of both families join in the joy of their children,” the statement concluded.
Princess Alexandra and Nicolas, who married in 2023 and welcomed their first child in 2024, continue to win hearts with their down-to-earth charm and growing young family. As Luxembourg prepares to welcome its newest little royal, the couple’s joy is clearly shared by the nation.
