Elon Musk is sticking around at Tesla and stopping political donations.
The Tesla boss confirmed to a live audience at the Qatar Economic Forum that he plans to keep his perch atop the automaker for at least five more years.
He also claimed that he would no longer fund political campaigns after he had ‘done enough.’
When asked if he was sure about his job security, Musk responded with a quip.
‘Well, no, I might die,’ he said while laughing.
He also told the live audience that his time as a campaign contributor will be winding down.
‘In terms of policial spending, I’m going to do a lot less in the future,’ he said when asked about his efforts to help Republicans.

Musk’s role as Tesla CEO has come under increasing public scrutiny.
The Tesla, SpaceX, Boring Company, Neuralink, and xAI top boss has spent a significant amount of time advising the White House as the head of DOGE.
In the 2024 Presidential election, Musk openly donated millions of dollars to the Trump campaign, a move that cuts against many of Tesla’s early fans.
Before his open endorsement, Musk had been silently sending huge sums to Republican Super PACs.
