Cherre Kambatta, a woman from South Africa, has drawn criticism following comments she made on Facebook supporting spousal abuse.

On Wednesday, April 30, 2025, Kambatta responded to a post by a Nigerian woman discussing an ongoing domestic violence case.

In her comment, Kambatta appeared to condone violence against women in marriage, stating that if a woman did not receive proper “home training” from her father, her husband has the right to “discipline” her.
