The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has confirmed the arrest of social media influencer Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, in connection with multiple petitions alleging cyberstalking.

EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale disclosed the development to BBC News on Monday, May 5. He stated that Otse was taken into custody following complaints filed by several individuals.

“We arrested him to respond to a series of allegations raised against him by some petitioners,” Oyewale said. “We will release him once he meets the bail conditions, and the case will proceed to court as soon as possible. We are law-abiding.”

The commission is reportedly preparing to formally arraign Otse in court soon.
