WAWO!!! Risqué And Revealing Outfits Officially Banned From Cannes Film Festival

The Cannes Film Festival has officially banned risqué and revealing outfits from its red carpet, introducing stricter dress code rules in a move aimed at curbing years of increasingly provocative fashion displays.

The new guidelines, introduced “for the sake of decency,” will take effect at the opening of this year’s festival, which kicks off with the screening of Leave One Day by French director Amélie Bonnin.

Festival organizers say the crackdown targets the trend of so-called “naked dresses” — daring ensembles that leave little to the imagination.

“For reasons of decency, nudity is prohibited on the red carpet, as well as in any other area of the festival,” a Cannes Festival document states. “The festival’s welcoming teams will be required to deny red carpet access to anyone who does not comply with these rules.”

The prestigious event is now enforcing a more conservative dress code, favoring classic attire such as tuxedos, dinner jackets, floor-length gowns, cocktail dresses, pant suits, and stylish tops. Elegant sandals, with or without heels, are also acceptable.

The 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival will take place at the Grand Auditorium Louis Lumière and will feature some of the year’s most anticipated film premieres over a seven-day run.
