Hollywood actor and comedian Marlon Wayans is using his platform to send a clear and compassionate message during Pride Month: support for the LGBTQ+ community should be unconditional.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, the White Chicks star expressed his love and respect for LGBTQ+ individuals, including those he’s known personally and professionally throughout his life.
“Happy Pride to all my LGBTQ peeps,” Wayans wrote. “From my block to my schools, to my cast and crews, to my friends, to my family… wherever you are or have been in my life, I wish you all love and support.”
While the message resonated widely, it was his simple yet powerful closing line that struck a particular chord: “You can be a straight man and still love gay people.”
