Rapper DDG has filed an emergency legal motion seeking to prevent actress and singer Halle Bailey from traveling abroad with their one-year-old son, Halo, as tensions escalate in their ongoing custody battle.
According to TMZ, the motion was submitted on Wednesday, June 4, just days before Bailey is scheduled to depart for Italy on June 7. DDG claims the international trip could pose a serious risk to the child’s well-being and alleges that Bailey might not return to the U.S., describing the situation as an “imminent emotional and psychological risk” for their son.
In court documents, DDG referenced several past incidents to support his concerns. He claimed that during her pregnancy, Bailey once took his firearm and left their home without explanation, though it was never discharged. He also alleged she had considered terminating the pregnancy without informing him and referenced text messages he described as “alarming,” including threats of self-harm and harm to their child.
Bailey, meanwhile, has made serious allegations of her own. The Little Mermaid star was granted a temporary restraining order against DDG in May, citing multiple incidents of alleged physical abuse. In one instance detailed in her filing, she claimed DDG slammed her face into a steering wheel while trying to take their son, causing a chipped tooth. She submitted photographs to the court as evidence.
In response to the travel concerns, Bailey explained that the trip to Italy is work-related and that proper care arrangements have been made for their child. “I have family and a nanny who will be traveling with me to care for Halo while I am working,” she stated in court documents.
A judge is expected to rule on the emergency motion shortly, as both parties continue to battle over custody and safety concerns.
