Brad Pitt’s Los Angeles mansion was broken into and ransacked by burglars while the actor was abroad in the UK promoting his upcoming Formula 1 film.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded to a burglary report around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Pitt’s residence in the Los Feliz neighborhood. Sources confirmed to NBC that the actor was not home at the time of the incident.
Police say three suspects scaled the fence and gained entry through the front windows. They reportedly made off with an “unknown” amount of personal belongings, and a full inventory of stolen items is still being assessed.
Authorities have launched an active investigation and are reviewing surveillance footage in an effort to identify the suspects.
The incident is part of a concerning trend targeting celebrity homes in Los Angeles. Earlier this year, Nicole Kidman’s home was also broken into, and singer Jessie J reported the theft of over $20,000 worth of jewelry during a similar burglary.
