Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has lauded U.S. President Donald Trump for authorizing a series of airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, calling the move a historic turning point in regional power dynamics.
“President Trump and I have often said: ‘Peace through strength.’ First comes strength, then comes peace,” Netanyahu declared in an early-morning video address. “And tonight, Donald Trump and the United States acted with a lot of strength.”
The remarks followed confirmation from Trump on Saturday night, June 21, that U.S. forces carried out coordinated and “very successful” airstrikes on three of Iran’s most sensitive nuclear sites—Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. These facilities are central to Iran’s uranium enrichment and nuclear development efforts and have long been viewed by the West and Israel as potential threats.
The strike represents one of the most dramatic escalations in U.S.-Iran tensions in recent years, intensifying an already volatile geopolitical situation in the Middle East.
